Guild Policies

Drama will not be tolerated in this guild. It is strongly encouraged to work out problems as they crop up, preferably using private chat or a vent channel. If the issue cannot be resolved, an officer may assist in finding a reasonable solution.

The Gauntlet would like to portray and maintain a professional persona on the Faeblight shard. Spamming trade chat, general or forums with offensive language or trash talk is unacceptable. Depending on the severity of the spam it may result in immediate removal from the guild.

It is normal for leaders of the guild to give constructive criticism to players who are not performing to their potential. We will attempt to offer suggestions and other types of feedback in a positive, professional manner. If you have difficulty accepting friendly advice, then The Gauntlet may not be the best guild for you.

We welcome input from all players and value their ideas and opinions; after all, it is your guild too. During raids or PVP activities is not the appropriate time or place to share such ideas or opinions unless it is specifically sought out by the Raid/PVP Leader. This is to keep guild events running in a smooth and orderly fashion. If you disagree with a Leader, please whisper him or contact him after the event.

Ranks are in place to reward players based on merit. We strongly value a positive attitude, initiative, leadership, and willingness to help over skill alone. Those that demonstrate these characteristics will be ranked accordingly. There is of course a need to rank according to level and gear as well, which is covered in more detail in the Ranks section.

If you choose to participate in a scheduled event, you must sign up using the in-game calendar. Registration is required no later than 1 hour prior to the scheduled start time. Failing to do so may jeopardize your spot unless the event has remaining openings. Some events require a certain composition of roles, callings & skills, but every effort will be made to ensure that our members fit into the rotation.

Raid Specific Information

Most raid guilds have a strict no PUG policy, however we believe that participating in such groups can in some cases be highly beneficial. It allows our members to enjoy new content, possibly obtain new gear, and above all gain valuable experience. We only ask that you be mindful of our scheduled events and give the guild top priority over PUG runs. After all, PUG runs are often less than desirable for the most part any way. Please do not PUG Progression raids that are scheduled unless you will be unable to attend a guild run for the week. Please let an officer know in advance if you will need to pug for the week (Raiders only).

We strongly encourage members to be proactive when looking for raid groups, heroics, quest help, and even the occasional search for a good fishing buddy or PVP partner. Our guild is here to help our member's progress, so any request for help should not fall on deaf ears. Using the site calendar is a great way to recruit a helping hand or find a group, and is open to all members to utilize. When scheduling events, keep in mind that raids or other major events normally take place between 6:00 and 9:30 pm server, However it is not required to seek groups through the calendar alone. If you need help, just ask.

Raiders must come prepared. It is critical that if you have registered for an event that you come prepared with buff food, flasks, potions, and anything else you need for the scheduled event. Holding up a raid is strongly frowned upon and may cause your spot to be filled by another member. If this happens often, you will be considered low priority when filling spots for scheduled events.

Loot distribution will be listed in the event description. Typically we will utilize Master Looter during scheduled raids. There will be times when a different system is necessary based on raid composition (i.e. using borrowed players). In the event Master Looter is not utilized, we will provide details as far in advance as possible.

New Encounters are challenging on so many levels. We ask that you familiarize yourself with new encounters by reading forums, watching boss fights or anything else to help prepare you for the event. We have included links to boss fights and strategies in our forums to aid you. It takes time to explain difficult boss fights, which can be greatly reduced if everyone does a little research beforehand. We don't expect you to be the expert, but it will greatly increase the chances of success and make the raid a more positive experience for everyone should you take the time upfront.
